Long Term Recovery
Long Term Recovery is usually used with high level athletes, often called deloading or tapering. Sometimes this is done before an event so the athlete has had adequate recovery time to ensure high level performance is achieved before competition.
They are often built into a seasonal training programme. Most coaches will design a year long training schedule which includes recovery days and even weeks.
However even if you are not training like an athlete it is important to include some longer term recovery in your training too. This could mean having a long weekend of simple cardio and stretching, or enjoying your holiday without needing to train for a week.
If you would like more advice on how to incorporate tapering into your schedule, send and email to Sophie at firstname.lastname@example.org and she will arrange a call.
